One of the most reliable and abundent varieties of aubergine, with a delicious buttery flavour. Black Beauty plants will produce several large fruits, and you will get a good crop even when the summer weather is not as pleasant as anticipated. This pear shaped, open pollinated variety can be grown in pots in a windowsill until they are ready to be planted out.
Aubergine is a popular side dish or can be used in curries, roasted vegetable cous cous salads and of course, ratatouille.

Sowing instructions:
Sow any time between early October to February in pots indoors. These seeds germinate at around 20°C. Pot on individually and plant out from late May, after all threat of frost has passed. For early/late crop allow 46cm between plants, for maincrop, allow 38cm. Harvest from April onwards. Aubergine plants can also benefit from tomato feed. Aubergine plants tend to grow top-heavy and tall, so make sure you have stakes set aside for this.
