How Much Netting Should I Buy?

For the best coverage of larger frames, we recommend that you buy two pieces of netting, one for the top of your structure, and one to go round the sides.

Measurements of your structure

Calculate

We advise rounding these numbers up to the nearest netting size. N.B. these calculations include 30% extra netting to allow for stretch

A robust, excellent quality and easy to assemble fruit cage kit with a full-height hinged walk-in door.  When built, the cage measures 6 feet wide x 12 feet long x 6ft high (1.8m x 3.6m x 1.8m). The box contains everything you need to assemble it yourself, including:

10 x 2ft, 7 x 6ft and 7 x 8ft strong aluminium tubes with 16mm thick walls

T-pieces, corner joints, 4-way joints, bend joints and hinges

80 x netting clips

18 x ground pegs

6m x 3m green woven netting

13m x 2m black cage netting

The green netting for the roof is made from 17mm mesh tough woven strands of UV-stabilised HDPE.  The black netting for the sides is 18mm mesh in 80gsm weight.  The full heigh door is fullky hinged, and allows easy access to your fruit and veg.

Protect soft fruit including raspberries, gooseberries, redcurrants, plus small fruit trees and tall vegetables from attack by birds and other garden pests such as rodents and pets.  Also good for adapating as a general growing frame - cover with UV polytunnel polythene to give the warmth of a greenhouse, or with fine insect netting to keep out the smallest of pests, or hail netting to prevent damage to delicate produce.
