Introducing Meadow View Beeswax Wraps, a plastic-free alternative to keeping your foods fresh and protected. Based in West Sussex and using local bees, these wraps are 100% natural and use upcycled organic cotton fabric which makes each pack special and unique to you. Each wrap is hand-crafted in West Sussex and Nutley’s are very proud to help support this small local business.

They can be used for wrapping your homegrown fruits and vegetables to keep them fresher for longer, as well as items like sandwiches, cheeses or leftovers. Simply use your hands to mold the beeswax wraps around your food or over bowls and dishes. These wraps also do not contain jojoba oil, which other bigger brands do, because it can’t be sustainably sourced.

The beeswax wrap is also better than alternatives such as cling film or kitchen foil as the wrap is breathable.

When cleaning the wraps, just wash it in cold water with a little eco-friendly detergent and leave it to air-dry. These wraps are also not suitable to be cleaned in the dishwasher or used in a microwave.

Because the wraps are a natural product and are designed to be used again and again, it is normal for them to stain and crease with use. Each wrap should last you between six to twelve months with the correct care, possibly saving up to a year’s worth of single-use plastic ending up in the landfill.

Please note: because these beeswax wraps are all handcrafted and use upcycled cotton materials, the size and pattern designs may vary from pack to pack. There are three pattern names available which all follow a theme, but we can not guarantee every pack will be identical. This is what makes them feel so personal and special to you!

In the square beeswax packs,  there are two wraps available. The larger wrap measures 40cm by 40cm and is great for covering bowls and larger items like sandwiches. The other wrap in the pack measures 31cm by 31cm and makes it the perfect size for smaller fruits such as lemons, peppers or tomatoes. They are also available in a pack with circle wraps that come in a set of three.

Each pack also comes with a piece of white string that not only holds the packs together, but can also be used when wrapping your goods to make sure they are extra secure.

The three pattern names are:

  • Bold
  • Bright
  • Brighton Blue

Meadow View Beeswax Wraps were founded by friends, Susie and Chloe. Chloe’s nephew suffered from hay fever and eczema and had heard about the benefits of eating local honey. They booked on to courses on how to look after bees and soon began to build their own hives in the back garden. The idea for the beeswax wraps came about after a dinner party when they made a small batch of wraps for guests to take away food. After its success, they created Meadow View Beeswax Wraps.
